Waukesha C Series Pump

Product Overview

Versatile Waukesha C-Series Centrifugal Pumps from Waukesha Cherry-Burrell find broad application throughout sanitary and industrial processes. These rugged pumps accommodate a wide range of solids and liquids under a variety of flow conditions and deliver long service with minimum downtime.

This pump delivers strong performance and competitive value within the lower spectrum of heavy-duty centrifugal applications. It can be installed in series without risk of seal failure, even under elevated inlet pressures and with viscous products.

Theory of Operation:

Centrifugal Pumps

A centrifugal pump operates by converting mechanical energy from a rotating impeller into kinetic energy within the pumped fluid. In sanitary centrifugal pumps such as those from Waukesha and APV, fluid enters the pump through the inlet eye at the center of the impeller. As the impeller rotates at high speed, centrifugal force accelerates the fluid radially outward along the impeller vanes, increasing its velocity.

This high-velocity fluid then enters the volute casing, where the expanding geometry converts velocity into pressure, producing a smooth, continuous flow at the discharge. The precision-machined volute, enlarged ports, and hygienic impeller designs used in Waukesha and APV pumps help minimize turbulence, reduce shear, and improve efficiency, making them ideal for sanitary applications requiring gentle product handling, cleanability, and consistent flow performance.
